facebook overlords

A gift application with a twist! As a number of you will know, we recently finished development on a facebook application for Fat Face, the rather funky clothing and outdoor clobber company.

An exercise in agility

When you develop for a customer you have two factors that help keep things on track. Time, and budget. More often than not, your customer wants it done yesterday, for as little as possible. That’s the nature of business. We thrive on maximizing our customers’ investments by ensuring they use technology appropriately for their requirements. This means we often strip out parts of a project if we feel they’re not adding to the end result or can’t be delivered quickly enough. We also try to use existing technology wherever possible to speed things up. All of this leads to a quick turnaround on a project and happy customers that keep coming back.

Take the edge off these cold winter nights

As I’m watching telly I’m feeling very chilly; and it’s not even December yet!

The great digital land grab…

Part 1: If it’s broke…

Internet Explorer is still broken and Outlook 2007 is using MS Word to render emails, which means that, whilst Outlook 2007 is not technically broken, the web standards that have been steadily seeping into email clients will be. This whole affair was aptedly described as effectively taking email design back 5 years by those respectable folks over at Campaign Monitor.

Are freelancers killing small businesses?

There’s a lot of work around in the web industry at the moment. Everyone I know in the industry will testify to this. This is making it very easy for freelancers to pick and choose the projects they work on. The work is plentiful and lucrative – why work for anyone in full time employment?

Demolish my school

I’m not sure if this is what Mark meant when he suggested I should post something to Ok Cool, but I just had to link to this crank call made by a young Irish girl asking to knock her school down.
