The Oldest Bug in the Book?

I spent a while looking around Yahoo Pipes last night, it really is a great tool for mashing and aggregating cool feeds. I spent most of my time just browsing around looking at other peoples pipes.

After a while it occurred to me that I was getting nowhere fast. I’d be clicking tags in the sidebar to narrow my results and despite the fact that there should 42 items with a tags, I was getting no results.

It was freaking me out for a bit, thinking that I’ve done something really stupid (which wouldn’t be unusual to be fair). Then the penny dropped, could they possibly have made the paging error that all newbies make at least once or twice? No? Not Yahoo?

I looked at the URL for my drilled down search and sure enough the URL still had the page I was on.

After removing the “page=6&” form the URL, all worked well and gave me the results that I expected.

Blimey Yahoo, how can you build something as amazing as Pipes and cock up something so simple?

Have you pointed this out to them? Perhaps you should, before their share price goes through the floor. I don’t spose they can hire the right sort of developers at the moment ;)

It’s an easy mistake to make though.
